There are two known kinds of Magic, most commonly known as Arcane Magic and Divine Magic.

Most things that villagers and peasants call Magic are in reality mostly superstitious thinking about some of the tricks or stuff that people use. A good example is the Solenian gest to always greet an aggressive dragon by painting your face with the opposite color of its kin. This is said to give limited magical protection against that dragon, while most magicians and clerics knows this is just superstition.

The weave and other namesRedigera

Magic is commonly called "the weave" or "ether" because of its all encompassing form. True, there are places were magic is scarce or maybe even completly gone, but those are far from common. The ether of magic is mostly reachable by all creatures intelligent or powerful enough to pull energy from it.
